Roleystone Kelmscott Bushfire

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Roleystone Kelmscott Bushfires started midday on 6 February 2011 and were brought under control by late in the afternoon on the 8 February 2011.
72 houses were destroyed and a further 32 were damaged. There were no deaths or serious injuries.
The fires were accidentally started by a policeman using an angle grinder and they soon got out of control due to a hot strong easterly (80 km/h) breeze. Many evacuees did not have time to rescue anything before they left.
