It led the three countries to put pressure on Mexico through blockades. After France's Invasion, Spain And The United Kingdom, realizing France's intention to colonize Mexico, pulled troops from the region. The resulting struggle is known as the French intervention in Mexico, also known as the Maximilian Affair and The Franco-Mexican War, by the army of the Second French Empire.
